Rosie Keehan
All the way from San Francisco to Shanaglish, Rosie is one of the youngest members of the NIS group, but has been singing traditional songs for many years.
Growing up in the Keehan household, Rosie is no stranger to sessions of Irish music and song. She made an appearance at the Nights in Shanaglish launch in San Francisco, and a packed house at the Irish bar "The Plough and Stars", experienced a great rendition of the song, "Teddy O'Neill". She has often times sang at sessions with her father Vincey in the Bay Area, but this is the first time that she has been recorded.
Late in the evening in August 2011, there was a great hush in a packed Whelan's pub, as Rosie started to sing. She gave us "Sweet Ballyvaughan", a song that she got from a great friend of the Keehan family, Seán Tyrrell. This song is track nine on the CD.
